IW Financial uses a bottom-up, issue-centric approach to identifying company involvement in these areas. This captures any and all involvement, which is then attributed to the ultimate corporate parent. This approach consistently finds companies with exposure that would be missed by reviewing an index of publicly traded companies.
The Global Compliance research also analyses the level of involvement of each company in the issue area. By looking at revenues of companies, our analysts are able to help investors apply investment policies having specific thresholds of issue involvement. For this data set, IW Financial determines the revenue band within which particular issue involvement falls.
